Method
- Heat 1/2 cup of the gravy in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes, until steaming.
- Pour the warm gravy into a shallow dish.
- Add the turkey and remaining 1/2 cup gravy to a skillet and warm over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the turkey reaches 165°F.
- Heat the stuffing in a microwave-safe bowl on HIGH for 1–2 minutes, stirring halfway through, until it reaches 165°F.
- Quickly dip two bread slices, one at a time, in the warm gravy, turning to coat both sides.
- For each sandwich, layer one plain bread slice with half the turkey and half the stuffing, add a gravy-soaked slice, then top with the remaining turkey, half the cranberry sauce, and a plain bread slice.
Notes
For the best texture, assemble just before serving so the gravy-dipped bread does not get too soggy. Refrigerate leftover components separately for up to 3 days; freezing the assembled sandwich is not recommended. Use gluten-free sandwich bread for a gluten-free option, and check that the gravy and stuffing are gluten-free.
