Ingredients

  • 1 cup turkey gravy divided
  • 8 oz turkey cooked leftover, sliced or shredded
  • 1 cup stuffing leftover
  • 6 sandwich bread sturdy
  • 0.25 cup cranberry sauce

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 skillet
  • 1 microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 shallow dish

Method

  1. Heat 1/2 cup of the gravy in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes, until steaming.
  2. Pour the warm gravy into a shallow dish.
  3. Add the turkey and remaining 1/2 cup gravy to a skillet and warm over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the turkey reaches 165°F.
  4. Heat the stuffing in a microwave-safe bowl on HIGH for 1–2 minutes, stirring halfway through, until it reaches 165°F.
  5. Quickly dip two bread slices, one at a time, in the warm gravy, turning to coat both sides.
  6. For each sandwich, layer one plain bread slice with half the turkey and half the stuffing, add a gravy-soaked slice, then top with the remaining turkey, half the cranberry sauce, and a plain bread slice.

Notes

For the best texture, assemble just before serving so the gravy-dipped bread does not get too soggy. Refrigerate leftover components separately for up to 3 days; freezing the assembled sandwich is not recommended. Use gluten-free sandwich bread for a gluten-free option, and check that the gravy and stuffing are gluten-free.
