Apple Cider Sangria

Apple cider sangria combines dry white wine, brandy, fresh fruit, and cinnamon for a chilled pitcher cocktail. Refrigerating it for 2 to 4 hours lets the flavors mingle before the ginger beer adds a fizzy finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple medium, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 orange medium, thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 0.5 cup brandy
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine chilled
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) ginger beer chilled
  • 1 ice for serving

Equipment

  • 1 3-quart pitcher

Method

  1. Add the apple, orange, and cinnamon sticks to a 3-quart pitcher.
  2. Pour in the apple cider, brandy, and chilled wine.
  3. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
  5. Stir in the chilled ginger beer.
  6. Serve over ice.

Notes

For the best fizz, stir in the ginger beer just before serving. Refrigerate covered for up to 2 days; the ginger beer will lose its fizz over time. Freezer: no. For a nonalcoholic version, replace the wine and brandy with additional apple cider.
