Method
- Spread butter evenly over one side of each bread slice.
- Place 4 bread slices buttered side down.
- Divide half the Brie among the bread slices.
- Top each with 2 ounces turkey and 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce.
- Divide the remaining Brie over the cranberry sauce, then close with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
- Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium-low heat.
- Cook 2 sandwiches at a time, covered, for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the Brie is melted.
- Rest the sandwiches for 2 minutes before cutting and serving.
Notes
For the best texture, cook the sandwiches covered over medium-low heat so the Brie melts before the sourdough gets too dark. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free sourdough bread.
